KidCite
has developed a educational tool for parents and teachers to help children
at home and in the classroom screen for vision problems.
The Vision Connection is an educational program to teach children, teachers and parents about visual, auditory and vestibular skills. It is a tool to demonstrate the student's skill level in 12 vision skills necessary for academic success PLUS activities to enhance student's vision skill and readiness to learn. It includes a pre and post screening battery to help identify children with problems in the 12 visual skill areas that the National PTA cites as key to academic achievement listed below:
The
Vision Connection includes:
Connection to Learning Charts that explain how each of the twelve vision skills affect classroom learning.
An easy to follow User Guide.
A Vision Profile Packet for recording before-and-after screening results of a child's eye-brain skill level.
Test Cards with easy to follow instructions for each interactive vision test.
Eye-Brain Activity Cards that provide fun ways to improve eye-brain skills.
A Vision Expert Audio CD with an entertaining explanation of how vision perception skills impact learning.
A Training Video, which demonstrates how easy it is to screen children and start them on eye-brain activities.
"The Vision Connection" helps screen children with visual problems and gives parents and teachers activities to help at home. It does NOT, however, correct clinical visual efficiency and visual perception problems.
